Celebrating Excellence: National Scholastic Musicians Awards & Junior Musician Awards

In the world of middle and high school performing arts, the National Scholastic Musicians Awards stand as beacons of excellence, honoring students who have demonstrated exceptional proficiency in instrumental and vocal disciplines. From band to orchestra to choir, these awards recognize the dedication and talent of young musicians across the nation.

The National Scholastic Junior Musicians Awards are the certified recognition that a middle school performing arts student has satisfied the requirements to be awarded one or both of the proficiency divisions per instrumental and/or vocal discipline set forth for these esteemed awards. The music disciplines recognized in these awards are band, orchestra, and choir. Within each discipline, there are two proficiency divisions each with specific requirements, which when met, result in the awarding of the National Scholastic Junior Musician Award, and the National Scholastic Junior All-Star Musician Award.

The National Scholastic Musicians Awards are the certified recognition that a high school performing arts student has satisfied the requirements to be awarded one or all four proficiency divisions per instrumental and/or vocal discipline set forth for these esteemed awards. The music disciplines recognized in these awards are: band, orchestra, and choir. Within each discipline, there are four proficiency divisions each with specific requirements, which when met, result in the awarding of the National Scholastic Band Letter (example of discipline), National Scholastic Acclaimed Musician Award, National Scholastic Ovation Performers Award, and the National Scholastic Hall of Fame Artist Award.

Those students who achieve one or all these awards are in an elite academy of illustrious peers. Specific levels of national recognition are available for each proficiency level earned, including press release copy which may be used in news and social media outlets. Students will also earn the opportunity to progress to the next award level of National Scholastic Musicians Awards until all levels have been achieved. At each award level they will receive a limited-time free subscription to Accoladi, will be listed on the College Recognition page of the website for all collegiate recruiters to review, and will have an opportunity to purchase award displaying apparel and merchandise. While being awarded one or all the proficiency level awards within the National Scholastic Musicians Awards is a personal achievement, it is also a nationally recognized mark of achievement that celebrates the commitment to excellence by the middle and high school student, music department, school district, and most specifically, the commitment and dedication of the school's musical ensemble director(s).

All aspects of the process, including the awarding of each proficiency level of the National Scholastic Junior Musicians Awards and National Scholastic Musicians Awards, will take place online.

The National Scholastic Junior Musicians Awards and National Scholastic Musicians Awards are governed by a Board of Advisors and administered by Scholarship Auditions.
